The Lulu Dress

Happy Friday! The weather here in Kodiak has been gloriously sunny and warm for the end of April/beginning of May.  End with a lot of yard work going on,  I managed to squeeze in a bit of sewing to test out this is a brand new, just released pattern from Jess over at Craftiness is Not Optional.  Jess has three little girls of her own and comes up with some fantastic clothes patterns to make for them. I've been lucky to test several of her recently released patterns and all of them have been a hit with my girl.

So... let me introduce you to the newest dress in my daughter's closet....The Lulu Dress!

The thing I love about Jess's patterns is that they are quick and fun.  Her instructions are easy to follow, she keeps the pattern pieces to a minimum but includes tons of options to make sure you can create a truly unique outfit.

My daughter  has been saying her "new" favorite color is purple for the last couple of weeks so it wasn't too much of a surprise when she picked this fantastic ombre quilting weight cotton from Moda for the skirt. Locally our choices for the top were limited since we only have quilt shops but we got luck and one of them had this great knit from Valori Well's Wish collection.

Almost 5 year old's don't hold still!

Jess has the pattern available today with lots of pictures of her cuties to show off some the options. She is planning to share some of the tester versions soon and I can tell you that they are fantastic.

Have an fantastic weekend!
