If you're here from the Blogger's Quilt Festival, welcome to my little part of the blog world. I hope you'll look around a little bit but I know there are so many quilts to look at in the festival.
Well, here it is! My Stars Over Gnoma quilt is done and I'm sharing it with you.
I was lucky enough to win a stack of six inch squares and the Gnomas from Monica, just before they were available. My Instagram feed says it was 74 weeks ago that I posted this picture.
The colors are so fun and bright that I knew they would be perfect for stars inspired by Elizabeth's Sparkle Punch quilt
This was such a fun, whimsical, no pressure project.
This is the first quilt that I have ever free motioned quilted. My little sewing machine is great but very basic and I've never had much luck in my previous trials but I stuck with it and I'm really happy with my effort. After outlining the stars, I did a very dense stipple in the white at bottom and then some swirls in the blank areas around the stars.
Quilt Stats:
Fabric ~ Winterkist by Monica of Happy Zombie and Kona Ash and White
Size ~ 33.5" x 44.5"
Designed, pieced and quilted by myself.
Having the Melody would have made it much easier to quilt this because of it's quilting table and variety of stitches.
