I've spent the last week sewing clothes for my daughter. We don't own a lot of summer clothes because it just doesn't get hot enough to need them. My kids spend most of the summer in jeans and t-shirts. So I wiped up 2 pairs of shorts and a pair of capris using a pattern from the book Little Girls, Big Style.

I also made two dresses. The first a pattern by Indygo Junction calle the Angelic Tunic.

The second is a Paper Fan dress by Anna Maria Horner.

After seeing several different hearts pop up on Instagram and reading about Amanda's, I couldn't get it out of my head! So I used what I had and made one. I cut 4 different Moda Candy Bars in to 2.5" squares and sewed them into rows. They are not the usual fabrics that I'm drawn to but they have a sweet, romantic quality that seemed perfect for this project. I don't have backing or batting on hand since this wasn't a planned project so for now it's just going to hang in my stairway as is.

I'm linking up with Lee @ Freshly Pieced.

What pretty projects! I especially like the heart quilt. Sweet and romantic is a perfect description!
ReplyDeleteYour kids clothes are cute. I too have been thinking about that same heart quilt too!
