My Quilt Along Blocks

I had fully intended to link up last Sunday because I had finally gotten all caught up on my blocks from the previous couple of weeks.  But instead of posting I was here...

 and seeing this...

When I read that Amy wanted to do a Simple Sampler Quilt Along, I was excited because I'd never done anything like it before. I am relatively new to quilting and the quilt blog world but I thought it would be a great way to practice the basics and learn some new tricks!  Unfortunately for me, she started it the day after we got home from our two week vacation Oregon and I had tons of laundry to catch up with and then we had visitors stay with us for a week.  So I got a little behind!  With the exception of the log cabin block ( I didn't like it so I ripped it apart last night)  I'm all caught up.  So without further ado, here are all the blocks!

  3. Well, I think I would rather be where you were last Sunday than on the internet! Your blocks look great! What kind of fabric is that. I figure it's cotton (batiks?), but the blue in the snowball variation just looks so silky!

  7. I love batiks! I'm so intrigued by them in the store and have been wanting to use them in a quilt. This sealed it for me! They are so colorful and fun :)

    Looks like a great vacation!
