A brand new finish!

My motto for the next couple of months is FINISH IT!  So here is the first...

This quilt started last fall when I pulled out a turnover that had been sitting in my stash for far too long.    I wanted a project that wouldn't require much planning and no deadline.  After planning the layout, the top went together very quickly.

The project proceeded pretty quickly to the basting stage and I knew I wanted to try spiral quilting it.  And then it sat like this until June...

when I had my machine out to quilt the Sweet as Honey quilt that you can see my previous post.

Once again the quilt sat...(Do you see a theme here? Apparently I procrastinate a lot!)  But yesterday I pulled it out, attached the binding and spent a couple of hours after the kids were in bed hand stitching the binding.

Those two pictures above show the quilt before I washed it.  The back show the spiral off really well!.

This is after washing, it got nice and soft.  The crinkly nature of a washed quilt is my favorite it part!

I've decided to gift this quilt to one of my husband's coworkers.  They are expecting a little girl in about a month and I think this will be perfect for our cold winters.

Quilt Stats:
Fabric: Basket of Flowers by Mary Englebreit,
Size: 31.5 inches square
Constructed entirely by me between Sept. 2013 and Oct. 25, 2014

I'm entering this as my second quilt in the Blogger's Quilt Festival. I've decided to include it in the ROYGBIV category.
