Clementine Quilt Along - my July post in August

So....

The finishing directions were posted by Fat Quarter Shop in July and I really thought I was going to be able to actually get this one done on time.

I got all my smaller blocks set on point and things were looking good.  I decided to give all my blocks are really good pressing since several had gotten a bit wrinkly over the last few months.  Once they were all pressed...reality hit.  My big blocks aren't all the same size, most are close and I'll be able to work around the differences but one is significantly smaller than the rest.  I admit that I felt a  defeated.  I thought I'd been so careful with my cutting and piecing.  So I put it all away and went on vacation.  When we got back I pulled it all out again and shared this post on Instagram.

Getting away and clearing my head, let me change my mindset and I've got a plan to get this top done.  I have enough fabric left to remake this block, being very careful to get it the right size.  Once the top is ready, I think I want to send it off to be longarm quilted.

Clementine Quilt Along - June Blocks

I'm a day late getting these blocks posted for you all to enjoy.  I don't know why by June always seems to get away from me...it could be the end of school chaos or that we have 4 family birthdays this month or that my oldest spent a week at Boy Scout camp.

Anyway...

What you really came to see is the beautiful blocks that complete the Clementine Quilt!  This month's block is called Strawberry Star.  Check out the blog post at Fat Quarter Shop to download the pattern and help raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Once again I just can't seem to get over how much these color make my color loving heart happy!

 This is the small block.

This is the big block!

Next up is putting all the blocks together and figuring out how to quilt it!

Don't forget to take a look at what my fellow bloggers are making!

Clementine Quilt Along - May Blocks

Welcome back!  It's time for the next set of blocks in the Clementine Quilt Along!

This months block are called Pineapple's Puzzle.   These blocks have lots of hsts.  I've got a suggestion for you if you are like me and want to put scraps to use...in the small block I was able to use corners that were trimmed off in previous months to create the hsts.

If you are sewing along with us (or just joining now) you can find all the pattern on the Fat Quarter Shop's Clementine Quilt Along page.

Here's a peek at all my blocks together!

Don't forget to check out all the other gorgeous blocks being made by these talented quilters!  And if you are financially able please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Clementine Quilt Along - April Blocks

Welcome back!

I can't believe we are already 4 months into the Clementine Quilt Along!

This month's block is called Coconut Cross.  After looking at the previous blocks all together, I decided to group the warm and cool colors together to help bring a bit more balance to the over all composition.  I'm happy with the way they turned out.  The smaller block got the cool colors and the larger block got the warm colors.

This picture show just how different the block sizes are.  The small is only 12 1/2 inches unfinished and the large is 20 1/2 inches.

And because I can't not include pictures that show how it's all coming together...

Don't forget to check out all the other fabulous quilts being made during the quilt along.  You can check the hashtag #clementinequiltalong on Instagram or all the other makers blogs at the links below.

March has be a busy month and I wasn't sure that I was going to get these done on time but I'm so glad I did!  I'm in love with the way these colors play together and I'm getting really excited to see this quilt complete.

All the big blocks
All the little blocks

Clementine Quilt Along - February Block

Allow me to introduce...Broken Berries, the February addition to the Clementine Quilt Along for St. Jude Hospital.  These two give me all the happy feelings!  I just love the way the ombre fabrics are showing off in these blocks.

My goal is to use every one of the eight colors I chose, so there aren't any color repeats between the two different block sizes.  I think this will give me a good spread of color in the finished quilt.

Want to see the January and February blocks together?

I know the answer is "YES!"

Although the patterns are free, if you can a donation to St. Jude is greatly appreciated.

And don't forget to visit the other bloggers that are quilting along!

Clementine Quilt Along - January Blocks

Hello!  How are you?  Are you excited to see all the wonderful blocks for the first month of the Clementine Quilt Along?  I can't wait to take a look at the block made by all the other fantastic blogger that are part of sharing this project with you!

The first block is called Watermelon Wheel and for this quilt you get be make it in two different sizes.  I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures in the snow we got last week.  I think this one really captures the beautiful ombre effect of the V & Co. fabric I am using.  You can check out my previous post about the quilt along to see exactly which colors I am using.

As you can see I couldn't stop taking pictures of these blocks.  They were fun and quick to sew together!  I'd love to hear what you think of these block and please let me know if you are going to sew along.  I'd love to cheer you on!

If you'd like to make you own then to hop over to the Fat Quarter Shop for the pattern.  The pattern is free but if you'd like to help, the Fat Quarter Shop is accepting donations through this link for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Clementine Quilt-a-long

Can you believe that 2017 is swiftly coming to an end?  Christmas is only a week away and the new year is coming faster than I'd like!  I thought I'd better pop in and let you know that I'll be quilting along with the Fat Quarter Shop on their 2018 charity quilt.   The Clementine Quilt is a stunning sampler quilt with fun blocks in varying sizes.  It runs from January to July 2018, with all the proceeds going to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

If you are interested in more specific details you can read all about it in their blog post.

I thought you might be interested in seeing what I'm going to be working with...

I've loved every quilt I've seen made from V & Co's beautiful ombre fabric but this is the first time that I'll be sewing with it.  And I'll admit to being a bit giddy about it.  I'm excited to see how it works with the block in this pattern.  The Bella White is going to be my background fabric and the chambray is the boarders and accent fabric used to set the small blocks on point.

I may have had a bit too much fun photographing these fabrics...so lots of pictures!
